Intergrative Medicine Advisory Council (IMAC)
The Integrative Medicine Advisory Council (IMAC) helps individuals and health care providers
learn more about the positive role that complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) therapies
can play in the healing process.
To achieve our mission, IMAC is actively involved in the Cambria/Somerset health care community
and sponsors several activities, including:
- Informational and educational seminars for health care and CAM providers
- Community wellness programs for adults and children
- Support for regional CAM services in a group setting, such as massage therapy for
cancer patients or music therapy for those diagnosed with ALS
IMAC was founded in 2003 by health care professionals and other individuals interested
in promoting the use of effective, time-honored CAM therapies to patients and health care
practitioners. By combining ancient healing arts with scientific and technological medical
advances, IMAC strives to promote the wholeness of mind, body and spirit for persons who
suffer from acute or chronic illnesses.
